City Business Club

Dear All,

This month, we invite you to join the City Business Club at the De Vere Grand Hotel on King's Road on Tuesday 30th October, from 8-10am for the Business Development module.

For those new to the City Business Club, it is a wonderful learning opportunity: we present an experienced speaker from the business community and plenty of networking opportunities with the more ‘seasoned’ Business Clubbers. This is all within a relaxed business environment, and topped off with a delicious breakfast.

This month, we have changed the format slightly - from two speakers to one, which will allow more time to network. We are very pleased to welcome Mike Herd as this month’s speaker. Mike is the Director of Sussex Innovation Centre. The Centre has a high profile both nationally and internationally and it is frequently cited as an example of best practice. Mike was named Sussex Businessman of the Year in November 2000, and the Sussex Innovation Centre was runner-up in the 2004 UKBI’s Incubator Exemplar award. Mike will be presenting “Business Development for an Ambitious Business - Think Big Act Small.” Clearly one of his expert areas - a presentation you do not want to miss!

Last month’s breakfast at the Gallery restaurant was a resounding success and we had a full house: we anticipate that spaces at this event will again fill up very quickly, and as they are limited, we strongly encourage you to return payment as soon as possible in order to guarantee yourself a place.

Many thanks to you who have already reserved their seats, to those of you that are yet to pay, please bear in mind that you can sign up for one event at a cost of £12 per person, or for any three in the series for £32.40.

Cheques should be made payable to 'CCBH' at the following address: City Business Skills, City College Brighton and Hove, Pelham Street, Brighton BN1 4FA.

Another change for this month is the layout of the delegate list, as people have asked for their email address to be added to their contact details, please contact me if you do not want to have your email address on the list or if you have any other questions, dietary requirements or simply require further information on 01273 667756, or sbl@ccb.ac.uk.

I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and our new members on the 30th! If you should know of anyone that would like to come along as well, feel free to forward this email to them!

All the best, Sara
